KAREN BASS MAJORITY LEADER |
Karen Bass has been a State Assemblymember representing Los Angeles' 47th District since 2005. Speaker Fabian Nunez selected Bass as the Majority Leader for the California State Assembly during the 2007-2008 legislative session, making her the first African American and the first woman to hold this leadership position. She also serves as the chair of the Select Committee on Foster Care. Since taking office, Majority Leader Bass has made Foster Care Reform her top priority. She has now written a new chapter in California history, but we have been told she is going to write a new chapter in American history ...by being elected the first African-American woman in the history of this nation to be the Speaker of a state legislative body. NOW THAT'S IMPRESSIVE!! ___________________________________________ Please click below to view her profile on our website |
